Seeking to
realise your potential?
“This spiritual path is a love story of truth-seeking and truth-finding, of the knowledge of love and the love of knowledge, and of a topsy-turvy magical ride penetrating uncharted universes.”
KAREN JOHNSON - Co-Founder of the Diamond Approach
In the necessary process of developing our everyday self, we grow apart from our truer self, our authenticity. As a result, our day-to-day experience can feel a pale imitation of something more real.
The degree of estrangement from who we truly are, and the circumstances under which this happens, vary from person to person. For many people, the associated feelings of alienation, discontent and purposelessness become an existential crisis.
This moment of truth can evoke a yearning for something different and deeper. Turning inward to discover our depth is often expressed as a desire to discover, ‘Who am I really?’, ‘Where do I truly belong?’, ‘Is there more to life than what I am experiencing?’, and ‘What else can I be?’.
Feeling the drive for self-discovery to realise your spiritual nature and recognising that the external world will not provide what you long for, is a step towards waking-up and becoming a spiritual seeker on a path of self-awareness.
Are these experiences familiar to you?
The Diamond Approach path is a teaching that addresses the heartfelt longings and questions of spiritually oriented people living in the modern world.
Introducing the Diamond Approach
Through exploring the ordinary circumstances of everyday life, this teaching about the realisation of our human potential and how to live that realisation emerged. Here you can watch people talk about their experience on this unique path of self-discovery.
From the perspective of our teaching realising your spiritual nature is often experienced as a feeling of coming home through discovering and loving the truth of who you really are.
Here you can find out more about Diamond Approach Australia, the teachings we offer, and the spiritual practices we use to support your journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening.
You can find answers to frequently asked questions such as is the Diamond Approach a religion (no) or a form of psychotherapy (no) here.

Deep down many of us yearn for the freedom to be real, to be authentic, to be who we truly are. We sense how fulfilling it would be to live a life that is real and authentic.
Yet from an early age, we all had to learn to fit in, to conform, to meet the expectations of our family, our culture, at school and in society. What was true and authentic about us was often missed or dismissed. By the time we’re adults it can be hard to recognize – what is Real about Me?
A central focus in the Diamond Approach is learning to be Real. It’s a vibrant, challenging journey of self discovery. We start right here & now with our direct experience, and explore and peel away the layers of our historical conditioning and beliefs, to reveal our deepest truths and presence. That is the real you.
Join us for this webinar if this is an exploration that stirs your interest.
Cost: Free
Teachers: Grant Trewenack & Mark Gordon
For those who would like to continue the exploration, a six-session Book Study and Inquiry Group will follow, beginning October 10. Click here to find out more and register.

Book Study and Inquiry Group – The Unfolding Now
Following the webinar, we invite you to continue the exploration through a six-session online Book Study and Inquiry Group based on The Unfolding Now.
“The keys to self-knowledge and deep contentment are right here in this very moment – if we can simply learn to live with open awareness.”
In The Unfolding Now, Hameed Ali explores the transformative quality of Presence and the ways in which we can learn to be more fully present to our experience.
Through Inquiry — a particular method of self-observation and exploration — we will explore the teachings together and discover how they can illuminate our own experience.
The group will be facilitated by Diamond Approach teachers Mark Gordon and Grant Trewenack and will be limited to 15 participants.

Event Details
Announcing the opening of a new ongoing Diamond Approach Australia group
When we are truly in the moment, life can feel alive, immediate and surprisingly fresh. There is more spontaneity, more freedom in how we respond to whatever life brings. Even the challenges of life can be held a little more lightly.
Yet most of the time, we are not fully in the present. We are caught experiencing life through old versions of ourselves — familiar patterns, assumptions and ways of seeing that have developed over many years. When our experience is shaped by our history, we can begin to sense that we have lost our way, losing touch with what is most True. Life can start to feel dry, dull or repetitive, as though something essential is missing.
In this retreat, we will begin to shine a light on the conditioning that shapes our experience and explore how its hold on us can soften. Through the teachings and experiential practices of the Diamond Approach, we will explore how to recognise our conditioning as it shows up in everyday life, and discover what becomes possible when we learn to be more awake and attuned to our actual here-and-now experience, rather than caught in our history.
There can be more flow, more dynamism — more juice!
This three-day retreat is open to anyone with an interest in exploring the Diamond Approach in more depth.
The retreat also marks the official opening of the ninth ongoing retreat group with Diamond Approach Australia (DAA9). Participants will have the opportunity to lay the foundations for this new group and explore what it might be like to participate in an ongoing group — a stable and committed community offering consistent support for transformation and realisation over time.
There is no obligation to join the ongoing group in order to attend this retreat. The retreat offers an opportunity to explore the teachings, experience the work for yourself and discover whether an ongoing group feels like the right next step for you.
If you are a lover of truth, and long to connect more deeply with your essential nature and express that in your daily life, this retreat and group may be for you.
